Getting Started

Getting Started
Let's get started!!

I am Mark and I'm starting my fitness journey today. I have started a similar journey many times throughout the years only to fail over and over. However, I have learned along the way that failure is just part of it. If I don't give up, then I will eventually achieve my goals.

At 50 years old, I find myself thinking that it's too late to get in shape. I've been dealing with my weight for over two decades. I am currently just under 300 lbs which is quite a bit for someone who is 5'10".

I have a stressful job; at times, I have a stressful life. I just haven't dealt with stress that well. I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs, but I also don't eat very healthy or watch my calories. As a result, my bodyfat has continued to increase over the years until I am at a point that I am afraid that serious health issues may be waiting around the corner. So, it's time to get in shape.

I do not gain muscle easy. Losing fat is even more challenging. Is it because I'm an endomorphic hardgainer? The genetic worst case scenario? Or is it because I simply didn't have the right knowledge? There is so much misinformation out in the world today, it's easy to get off track.

I've started looking at what makes sense and what I will actually be able to do and keep up in my life. I've studied different fitness personalities both current and from the past and pieced together my own routine and plan.

I'm ready to get started.
